Combining Glass Arts

Shops and artists that specialize in stained glass have begun to offer classes to glass artists who wish to experiment with glass fusion art. There is a good reason these two arts are very complimentary. Stained glass work requires flat pieces of glass in various sizes and colors. Generally, a pane of glass is made in the color the artists needs. If several colors are necessary, the artists will need at least one pane of each color. They then cut out the piece they need, and the shop or artist must find a way to use the glass pieces that are left over. Glass fusion art is one way to recycle these pieces of glass with no intermediate steps. The artist simply makes new shapes from the leftover glass pieces and fuses them together to form their own art objects.
